In response to growing social awareness towards the persistent racial inequities that shape our institutions, companies across the U.S. are taking a hard look at their workplace practices to assess where they stand in promoting “diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).  These three words are often used in addressing racial disparities, but what exactly do they mean?  In a time when most businesses are concerned with surviving an unprecedented health crisis and economic downturn, what is the business case for taking on the challenge of DEI? Many companies in the renewables industry, including AWEA, have made strong statements against racism and have pledged to take measures necessary to address these issues. This webinar will explain why it is important for renewables industry to pursue DEI and to glean lessons from Uber’s DEI efforts. Bo Young Lee, Uber’s Chief Diversity, and Inclusion Officer, will share insights into Uber’s journey and commitment to make themselves, “the most diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace on the planet.”
